Hotel Dannunzio

City of canals and gondolas, masquerades and balls, palazzos,

piazzas and pizzas. Holidays to Venice are like stepping out of

reality and into a world of fantasy and frivolity.

You may feel like you already know what to expect from this

iconic destination? Starring in Cornetto ads, Madonna's music

videos and countless films, not to mention all the attention

from literature, the Queen of the Adriatic is instantly

recognisable.

Indeed the attractions tourists travel to Venice to see are

familiar to us all…the Grand Canal, the Rialto Bridge, St. Mark' Square, the Bridge of Sighs, the Doge's Palace …the list is endless. But there's no substitute for being there, no matter how many times you watch Death in Venice, The Talented Mr Ripley or several of the James Bond films.

The magic of Venice is created by the over-the-top architecture, the ethereal, colourful Venetian glass and ubiquitous and fantastical masks. Plus having waterways instead of roads and the complete absence of vehicles lends a surreal and other-worldly atmosphere to the City of Water.

This former powerful city state and influential player on the world stage of commerce, art and music is now Europe's largest car-free zone and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It may prove hard to part from this utterly unique city. You're sure to leave a piece of your heart in the enchanting City of Light.
